A Very Merry & Not So Ordinary Book Club Christmas Celebration

We don't do anything "ordinary", not even our Christmas celebrations.  Yvette had a great idea of doing a secret gift exchange, but the twist was, we each had the same wooden frame to decorate any way we wanted to and that was our gift to each other.  Boy did it test our creative skills.  Some took off running with it, others stressed... but in the end, they were all beautiful!  Each one unique in it's own way, but beautiful.  Just like all the ladies that are part of this not-so-ordinary book club of ours.  That night we laughed, we cried and laughed some more.  I love these ladies and I wouldn't trade them for anything.

This quote says it all...

"Life is made up of a series of stories.
I am so glad you are part of mine."

A Good Friend Understands the Unspoken Words

Meeting the ladies of NYOBC has been a blessing for us all.  We've all learned new things.  We've read books {kind of} that we'd normally never read.  We've shared things that we've never shared with anyone else.  We've laughed.  Some have cried.  We've offered advice.  Given support.  We've simply created relationships that are priceless.  We each bring a unique personality to the group.  Some of us are the serious type.  Some are the entertaining ones.  While others are full of knowledge.
This past month our reading selection was

{Michele Scott}

This book seemed to describe who we are.  A group of women who somehow found each other and became the greatest of friends.  Not all the same.  They didn't always agree.  They came from different backgrounds.  They led different lives.  But for happy hour... they were there for each other.  They understood each other... even when some things were left unspoken.

I love my happy hour girls.

Yes, We Still Exist ...

And we are stronger than ever! I have slacked on blogging for the book club, but we are still around. Summer is near, so I will have no excuse to not keep this up. What's new with us? We have new members! So happy about that. Pictures of them will be up soon. Also, we've also branched out to doing a bible study (will be on same blog, but different page, you can find tab up on top)so excited about that!

This month our book choice is a fun one- Are You There, Vodka? It's Me, Chelsea by Chelsea Handler. So far it is a real fun and easy read! After a looong school year- it is just what we needed!

Go HERE to read chapter 1 and HERE to purchase the book. Join us!
